In conventional dental implant surgery the gum is cut, the bone is exposed and stitches are placed after the implant is inserted. However, today, with the possibilities offered by digital dentistry, the sutureless implant method (surgically guided implant) we have developed makes this process completely comfortable.
How Is a Sutureless Surgically Guided Implant Performed?
Before the operation, a 3-dimensional dental tomography of our patient is taken. The exact angle and position at which the implant will be placed are determined in a computer environment. In line with this plan, an individually designed surgical guide (template) is produced with a 3D printer. During the surgery this guide is placed in the mouth and only a small hole the diameter of the implant is opened in the gum, and the titanium screw is inserted.
What Are the Advantages of the Sutureless Implant?
- No Bleeding or Swelling: Since the gum is not cut, bleeding, swelling or bruising during and after the procedure is at a minimum level.
- Fast Healing: Since no stitches are placed, tissue healing takes place 2-3 times faster than with the conventional method.
- Shorter Duration: The time needed to place a single implant drops to approximately 5-10 minutes.
- Reduced Sensitivity: The risk of infection is extremely low.
